The highly-touted infinite stance options are just the beginning. Traditionally baseplates tend to diminish a snowboard’s flex and feel–and don’t do much for cushioning. The Burton EST binding has a special EST baseplate and SensoryBED Cushioning system to give your board a smoother ride with a truer flex pattern, hopefully resulting in a better connection between your feet and the snow (keep in mind that the board and boots that you combine with your EST will be a massive performance factor). A new pre-curved triple-axis telescoping Superstrap II cinches in your custom fit with a new tool-free strap length adjustment feature that does away with the need for box cutting knives or butcher’s scissors. This means that you can play with your binding sizing to adapt to a variety of boot sizes. A Super Capstrap with Grip Fit up front has a 3D contoured shape that molds to your boot toe, pushing your heel back firmly into the binding while holding the foot down for better response. The Grip Fit element also gives the EST an extra power and response element that’s essential for discerning and competitive riders.
